Chloroprene rubber (cr) is the polymerization of chloroprene CH2 = ccl-ch = CH2 (2-chloro-1,3-butadiene) or their copolymers with other monomers. Acetylene is the important raw material for the manufacture of chloroprene. Various types of polychloroprene can be prepared by emulsion polymerization. By adjusting the polymerization process, no crosslinking and branched polymer (so-called alpha polymer) can be produced. A large number of different forms of neoprene can be classified into two categories according to their structure and characteristics.

The 2 and second categories are chloroprene rubber containing sulfur in the molecular chain, and sulfur exists in the form of polysulfide bridge. The regulator used in the manufacturing process is sulfur or sulfur and mercaptan. The molecular weight distribution of chloroprene rubber is wide and the average molecular weight is 10~20. The properties of Cr depend on the microstructure of polymer, and its processability depends on the molecular weight and distribution of polymer, the number and distribution of branched chains and crosslinks, and its chemical properties depend on the influence of chlorine atoms at the edge of carbon atoms. The basic variety of Cr is homopolymer of chloroprene. The crystallinity of the polymer decreases with the aging of the polymer. The adhesive CR used in practice is highly crystalline because it is polymerized below 20 degrees.

Remarkable resistance to wax, fat, oil, lubricants and various petroleum products.
